Issue 12 marks the second week of Vera Lutter's residency (to see her first issue got to No. 11). Just in case you did not know, she hails from Germany but lives and works in New York City. Prom 64: Sunday 7.09 (7:30pm to 9:50pm - Prices Vary). The BBC Concert Orchestra play a programme of Spanish music including Falla's Seven Spanish Songs and Astor Piazzola's Bandoneon Concerto, Pieces for Tango Quartet and Tangazo for orchestra.

Prom 69: Tuesday 10.09 (7:30pm to 9:40pm - Prices Vary). The BBC Symphony Orchestra and Andre Watts (piano) conducted by Leonard Slatkin play Rakhmaninov Piano Concerto No.2 in C minor (well known from the film Brief Encounter) and Shostakovich's monumental and anguished Symphony No. 8.
